The fourth round of the global Auto GP series was held a week back at the turns of the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit where the former Indian F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan emerged victorious along with Japanese campaigner Kimiya Sato.
It was the debut for Karthikeyan with the well-known Norfolk Super Nova International team. He had gained pole post in race one and went on to register his maiden victory in this series.
The lap was first taken by Rookie Kevin Giovesi until he had been dropped to 13th place for the pit stop by the official window. Narain is too excited with this maiden win at the Auto GP. It was a completely thrilling experience for him with the track and the car combo. The tyres of Kumho had been consisted and supported him well while on the track. The next round of the race will take place at Mugello in the upcoming weekend on July 13-14. Then the series returns to UK for the final round. This will be held at Donington Park from August 31st to September 1.
European Motorsport Manager of Kumho, Steve Thompson said that they are happy to supply the tyres for the Auto GP series for consecutive two years. It is a proving arena for the upcoming F1 racers. They are likely to provide similar medium and soft compound tyres for every car. The products has given good performance on the track.
