The success of its recently launched Ertiga model has made the Maruti Suzuki engineers to immediately commence work on an automatic version of this popular family MPV car. This is going to add a new feather in the cap of Maruti Suzuki as no other MPV’s that are currently available in India has an automatic drive system. Maruti is looking to cash in on the popularity of automatic car version in India and it is believed that the automatic version of Ertiga would be launched in India during the forthcoming festive season. The automatic version of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga would be available for the customers at about Rs. 50,000 more than the manual transmission system variants.
The demand for the Maruti Ertiga is very high and Maruti is struggling to keep pace with this demand and there is every possibility that the waiting period for the car to be increased a bit. The car had registered unexpected and unmatched bookings in the first week of its launch and this shows that there is a huge demand for the Multi Purpose Vehicle in India. There are all possibilities that the Indian car market would be flooded with MPV’s in the coming year if Maruti Ertiga and the soon launching Nissan Evalia are in greater demand. As the automatic version of Ertiga would be available at a very competitive price, there is no doubt that there will be tremendous sale of this new avatar of Eritga like its manual transmission sibling.
