Toyota to roll out small MPV to combat Mobilio

It has been reported that the world renowned Japanese automaker, Toyota Motors, is working on developing a small MPV which will compete with the popular vehicles like Honda Mobilio and Maruti Ertiga, The competition level in the Indonesian has become atrocious after the launch of the Honda Mobilio. If we go by the auto experts’ opinions then the Mobilio could emerge as the best selling model in the next year in the Indonesian market. Taking this into consideration, Honda’s closest rival, Toyota Motors has planned to launch a contender in this MPV segment. This new Toyota MPV is expected to make a debut at the next year’s Indonesian Motor Show.


As per a report hosted by, Toyota Motors is presently working hard on a tough competitor of Mobilio. At present it can be said that Toyota is ruling the light MPV segment with its Avanza. This particular model managed to out sell the Ertiga. Also the Daihatsu Xenia which is also based on Avanza has been enjoying a good sale volume and has been tagged as the 2nd best selling MPV in the country. It has also been said that Toyota’s new MPV would be grander and more premium than the Avanza and will go head on with Honda Mobilio. The new MPV will also be equipped with a 4 cylinder 1.5 liter gasoline engine.
